Located in the province of Overijssel Giethoorn is a charming village, where farms are located along the canals with a total length of over 4 miles. There is a lack of the roads – or not at all – and this, combined with the beauty of the rural landscape, makes this place so special. Village has gained big significance thanks to the movie “Fanfare” from 1958, made by Bert Haanstra, which is still the best comedy ever made in the Netherlands. More on “Giethoorn” we write in Fanfare for Giethoorn, and below we present photos taken specially for us by Dorota Mazur.
