Many people think in the Netherlands they only made paintings and fought wars. Of course it is difficult to know about Dutch literature because of the language barrier. Therefore it is understandable that the Dutch paintings have reputation as they are not bound to the language. But Dutch music is also not tightly bound to the language but hardly known. That is why this chapter tries to bring a little bit of clarity.
